April, 2008
4/3/2008 - I have finally arrived back at
Las Vegas and plan on taking a break from all this golf I
have been doing lately. I will be back in about a week when
I will be at St. George, UT taking pics and playing their
municipal courses which are very nice indeed.
|
March, 2008
3/21/2008 - Well, I have been very busy
taking more golf course pics and playing some golf. I have
been through Yuma, AZ and picked up Mesa del Sol and Los Barrancas
golf courses. If you are down in Yuma they are probably your
best bet for a great time. I then went to Tuscon for the Tiffin
Rally and was able to fit in another great find at Marana.
The Pines at Marana is one of the few "quarry" golf
courses in the United States and is absolutely georgeous.
Pristine greens on this course add to its character and astetics.
I then stopped in Casa Grande for 10 days and drove to Phoenix
to finish up the Suncor managed golf courses: Sunridge Canyon,
Palm Valley, Club West and Sanctuary. Along with those I was
able to get the two best courses in Casa Grande, Mission Royale
and the monster 7549 yard, Francisco Grande Golf Resort. If
you want a great deal while visiting the Phoenix/Tuscon area,
Casa Grande is approximately half way between them and has
some great golf.
3/2/2008 - Well, the golf was OK this weekend
with the Honda Classic and Johnnie Walker, but a young lady,
Lorena Ochoa, stole the show. She finished so far in front
of everyone that it was like a practice round for her in the
final day. Annika (my favorite) finished second and Paula
Creamer third. I think the LPGA has got just what it needed
with Annika back, Creamer is hot and Lorena is back with a
vengence in her first appearance of the year. OK, guys, let
us hear it for the ladies.
3/1/2008 - I have been busy with some new
courses in the San Diego area and just when I was about to
leave. Work, work, work! It is a dirty job, but someone has
to do it. I have three more courses that will be coming up
soon from American Golf - The Vineyards at Escondido, Riverwalk
and Mission Trails. Another course will be the Lake San Marcos
Resort and Country Club.
|
February, 2008
2/24/2008 - Now a little bit about the tours.
I guess the first question is can Tiger be beat or is Tiger
the only person that can beat Tiger? Can we all say Grand
Slam? How about Annkia? She didn't win this week, but finished
strong and placed 4th. She has moved to number 2 behind Lorena.
What do you think? E-mail us your answers or questions. I
love to talk golf!
2/23/2008 - Well, I am back. I had a stop
at the Paint Shop in Chino, California for some work on the
motor home an it now feels like it is brand new. We are now
in San Diego and I am searching for golf courses to add to
the web site. Currently, I have only one Lake San Marcos Resort
and Country Club which I will be on this coming week.
2/1/2008 - Be sure to check out our Travel
section. Coralee has an ongoing Travel Blog
as well as a Travel Journal telling of great
places to visit in areas we have been as well as esturants
that are exceptional and other places of interest.
2/1/2008 -
Today I had the opportunity to take photos of Trilogy Golf
Club at La Quinta which is an absolutely beautiful course.
Wide fairways, tight and undulating greens, a true shot makers
course. As I was ready on the first tee I received a frantic
call from my wife with news that was absolutely unbelievable.
The Classic Golf Club, host of the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic
PGA event wants me to come out and do a photo shoot. So next
week, I will drive the one hour back here to the Coachella
Valley and photograph one of the most exceptional courses
in the United States.

January, 2008
We have been busy this month. Palm Springs, California
and the Coachella Valley courses open their arms to us. We
are deeply grateful.
1/24/2008 -
Today, I did photographs of the Player Signature Course at
Westin Mission Hills Resort. This course provides the golfer
wide fairways, slightly elevated greens with adequate bunkering
and beautiful water features. There is also plenty of water
fowl and wildlife to see as you play your round. Don't miss
the white crane that sits and watches those wayward shots
and the great shots as well.

- Hole #11
1/22/2008 - Well, we finally got approval
to add one of the finest courses in the Coachella Valley,
Desert Willow Resort which has both the Firecliff course and
the Mountain View course. I played both and found both equally
excellent to play, but if I had to choose one to play while
visiting I would choose the Mountain View course. I want to
thank Mike Osgood for his hospitality and support of our web
site and we will have these two courses up soon.

Desert Willow Golf Resort
- Mountain View Course - Palm Desert, California - Hole #18
1/21/2008 -
Jon Vesper, Director of Golf, for the Westin Mission Hills
Resort, called and approved shooting of the Pete Dye course
and the Gary Player Signature course. I photographed the Dye
course and was amazed at its tough exterior and subtle greens.
True to Mr. Dye's designs the course has mounding throughout
with lots of bunkers and some great water holes. Absolutely
a gem.
1/5/2008 -
I have a heavy schedule this week as I am doing photo shoots
at Mission Lakes Country Club, Cimarron and it's sister course,
Woodhaven Golf and Tennis Club (semi-private). All three of
these courses played great, Mission Lakes is short, but windy
and built up against the hills in Desert Hot Springs with
a lot of uphill holes into the prevailing winds; Cimarron
Resort is an exceptional links course which houses the Dave
Pelz Academy and Woodhaven Golf and Tennis Club, is a mature
course with wide fairways, smaller greens and lots of bunkering
around the greens along with some great water holes.

December,
2007
12/25/2007
- Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to everyone. May your
days be filled with golf and never forget that golf emulates
life. How you act on a golf course shows your character.
12/08/2007 - I just picked up a copy of
Desert Golf magazine which covers Nevada, California, and
Arizona. If you are going to take a winter vacation to Palm
Springs or Arizona there are some great charity events that
you can play in and some are actually affordable for the average
person. They range from $99 per player to $5000 per player.
Most of the December ones are over, but there are still some
great charity events between now and April 2008. Additionally,
in January 2008 the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic will again grace
the Palm Springs area. This is one of the fun PGA events with
multitudes of celebrity guests playing along with the Pros.
12/07/2007 - I would like to share that
our trip to Las Vegas has gained us a new perspective on our
venture. I ended up getting more courses from the surrounding
areas Mesquite, St. George and Boulder City, but have made
some great contacts for the Spring 2008 and we will come through
here again and will hopefully pickup a few more of these great
courses. We want to wish everyone of our members and those
who check out our site a Happy Holiday and wonderful New Year.
May your shots be true and your birdies plentiful.

November, 2007
11/06/2007 - Well, I have been busy this
week as I was getting up early 0445 hours and went to Black
Mountain Golf and Country Club in Henderson. Here I photographed
and played all day long for about eleven and one half hours
until I could barely walk. The Director of Golf is Joan Phillips
formerly of Star Pass in Arizona. If you stop in at Black
Mountain be sure to say Hi from the GolfCaddyOnline.com people
as she is a wonderful person who treats everyone well. Oh!
make sure you play your breaks on the greens toward the Valley.
11/05/2007 - Next week finds us in Mesquite,
NV for about three days. I have the privilege of photographying
The Oasis Club (The Palmer and The Canyons), Falcon Ridge
Golf Club, Casablanca and The Palms. The following week is
even better as I go to St. George, UT and photograph The Ledges
(a must play for anyone going to St. George) and Coral Canyon
which is absolutely beautiul. If you are a golf fanatic these
will be some of the courses you have to play when down in
this area of Nevada and Utah.
|
October, 2007
10/30/2007 - I have been busy calling courses
throughout the Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, Mesquite
and St. George areas and now have plenty to do. Look for new
courses on www.golfcaddyonline.com in the next month. Our
most recently added course is the new home of the Washington
State Golf Association and the Pacific Northwest Golf Association,
The Home Course. This course is absolutely wonderful with
views of Mt. Rainier, Puget Sound and undulating greens. It
is a must play when you get ot the Northwest.
10/29/2007 - Well, it looks like Annika's
back. She finished in the top ten and then went on to beat
Paul Creamer and Morgan Pressell in a skins game in Japan.
Look out folks, 2008 will be the big comeback for Annika.
After talking with her I would play a bet on her becoming
number 1 again next year.
10/17/2007 - Well, folks, we are on the
road. Currently, we are in Nampa, Idaho. I am trying to get
pictures of Eagle Hills Golf Course in Eagle, Idaho and Lakeview
Golf Club, Meridian, Idaho. Unfortunately, there is rain,
rain and more rain, although, I was able to take the back
nine at the Eagle course. I will try tomorrow. Keep checking
the site as I am working on adding the Home Course in Dupont,
Washington.
10/07/2007 - Yes, I am home now, but if
you want to see more about this adventure to Annika's Academy,
please watch for it on The Golf Channel and ESPN as they were
filming the big winner and ESPN was on the course taking interviews
with all of us while we were playing with Annika.
10/02/2007 - Here, I am at 7:00 AM having
breakfast at the Clubhouse resturante. We get to meet Annika
today at 8:00 am. Our golf clubs are on the carts and our
names too. I have been assigned with Dave who is from the
Midwest and sells healing oils (no not snake oil). We drive
down to the academy and walk up the steps and in the door
and who greets us but Annika herself, along with Christian
who is the Assistant Operations Manager and a very competent
golfer in his own right.
She asks us to go into the conference room. Once everyone
is there she starts out with the introduction of herself,
her sister Charlotta and other staff members. We then get
a tour of the facility and are put into two groups, A and
B. I was assigned to group B along with Dave, Bill and Judy.
Group A consisted of Jerry, Sue and the grand prize winner
Kathy. Both Kathy and Jerry were new to golf so they tried
to split the groups into beginners and more advanced players.
Group B was first to go on the range and then Group A to the
fitness guru, Kai. Kai has been with Annika for six years
and is one of the top trainers in his field. After about 1
hour we then switched and Kai had us, Oh! Oh! Even though
he was doing the exercises on a low level they were intense
since they focused on specific muscles. The agony!
After that was lunch served in a bento box. Obsolutely, exquisite
and nuitritious. We all then went out on the course, Tom Watson's
Independence course. We played only nine with Charlotta which
turned out to be the back nine when the LPGA plays their tournament
there. It was great and I was only 2 over after nine. The
course was Bermuda grass both fairways and greens and the
greens were a little slow since it is a Resort after all.
Charlotta gave us hints on our swing if she saw something
was amiss and followed each group for about half of the nine
holes. That's the end of the first day which saw me hitting
more balls than I would in a normal six months of going to
the range.
10/01/2007 - Well, I finally arrived at
the Orlando International Airport (approximately 10 hours
later). I recommend taking a direct flight if you can afford
it and going 1st class. I drove up to the GINN Reunion Resort
about 30 minutes south of the airport and was amazed. Driving
in through this gated and secured community with wetlands,
golf courses, homes and condos was quite an experience. In
the distance I could see this exquisite hotel and clubhouse.
I was told that I was to have an early arrival so the anticipation
of having a nice bed to flop into was overwhelming. As I approached
the front desk, the gentleman in front of me was being told
that there were no early arrivals and that the rooms would
not be ready until after 4:00 PM; I was promptly told the
same thing. That's 1, I thought to myself. So I introduce
myself to the gentleman who had been turned away, his name
was Jerry, from Illinois who also had had a long flight. It
turned out that he too was one of the winners of the Annika
"Share-my-passion" sweepstakes. We decided to have
lunch at the clubhouse since they at least gave us our room
keys so we could buy something since it is a moneyless system.
Finally about 4:30PM our rooms were ready and two tired guys
emerged victorious with room keys in hand and headed for our
rooms. Jerry was on the third floor and I on the fourth.
I opened the door with some trepidation and was total in
awe of this absolutely goregous suite. Marble floors, granite
counter tops in the kitchen, washer/dryer, two bedrooms and
for you guys a 45" LCD Panasonic TV in the main room
and a 32" LCD Panasonic in each of the bedrooms. The
bathrooms were huge and had both a shower and large soaking
tub. In the closest was a satin robe with terry cloth. A veranda
was outside the main room which viewed over the driving range
and practice facility and you could see two of the courses.
In the distance I took my first look at the building I would
come to know as Annika's Academy. I really wanted to get some
sleep, but the staff kept checking in on me every 1/2 hour
to make sure every thing was satisfactory, brought up my luggage
twice and then my wife called, whoops!
The one thing that made this first day of arrival was the
food. They must have some of the best chefs in the United
States working for them because the food was wonderful and
the presentation outstanding which for desert made you not
want to eat it. If you ever eat at the Clubhouse resturant
there, make sure you try the bread pudding covered with raspberry
and carmel, but in my case they had run out of carmel. I did
ask if he had anything else to put on the bread pudding and
he said only chocolate. I said let's try that and a new desert
was born. Out came this large peice of bread pudding with
whipped cream on top with chocolate peices and splashed with
raspberry and chocolate in a large white bowl. It was absolutely
beautiful. If I had had my camera I would have taken a picture
with it. Time for bed.

September, 2007
9/29/2007 - Well, the day has come for me
to fly to Orlando, FL and visit with both Annika and Lotta.
You can imagine the anticipation of meeting one of the greatest
golfers of all time, man or woman. I will cronical my days
at the Academy for my loyal readers. Unfortunately, Henri
Reis, Annika's only coach and the Head Instructor at the Academy
will not be there do to family matters back home. Our best
wishes go out to him and his family. Each day is filled with
(ugh!) work out, range and playing golf as well as a custom
fitting by Callaway and we get time with Annika in a clinic
and 9 holes of golf. When I say we, it looks like there were
eight winners in all who will be attending from the sweepstakes
which means two foursomes and it still adds up to one heck
of a time. Once I leave the Ginn Reunion Resort I will head
up to the World Golf Village for a couple of nights and then
back to Orlando. By the way, it is only a 1 1/2 hour drive
to the World Golf Village from Orlando, so if you are planning
a trip to Disneyland I would recommend a couple of nights
at the Village which is just south of Jacksonville.
9/17/2007 - Now, can someone tell me, "Whose
the "Best" golfer in the World?" Kind of a
retorical question, huh? Tiger just dismantled the rest of
the field. While most struggled, Tiger went about his business
and disected Eastlake Golf and Country Club. His finishing
23 under for the tournament was magnificent. Yes, I am a Tiger
fan since I saw him when he was 3 years old on TV. He has
worked hard, had great parents as role models and transcends
the color barrier that seems to habitat the earth. Tiger has
taken this wonderful game of golf that shows us how life could
be with a set of rules that people follow and that everyone
is taken at their word and trust is everywhere. Yes, golf
shadows life, but in real life these lofty rules that golf
maintains in good order, don't always work. Yet, here is a
man that has shown us not only how to win in life, but puts
his money where his mouth is and through his foundation is
helping many youngsters who need a guiding hand. Yes, I like
Tiger. I hope he continues to show us the best of golf for
many years to come.
9/14/2007 - The Tour Championship at Eastlake
Golf and Country Club is turning into the "Tiger Woods
Show". Tiger after a blistering front nine of 28 ended
the day 3 strokes ahead of his nearest rival. Phil Michelson
shot well, but is seven strokes behind and Steve Stricker
is still in the mix, but laging. Hey, guys, there is only
one more day to this tournament and Tiger may become the first
player to accrue $20M in a season. Here's my question to those
who read this blog, "Do you think Tiger needs the PGA
and Mr.Finchem's hardcore antics or does the PGA need Tiger
to keep it going?"
9/07/2007 - Well, Tiger's back! Even though
he was beat by Phil last week, he is back and in the hunt
again. It is nice to see Baddeley, Villegas and Rose up on
top (three of the bright future stars), but lurking just a
couple of shots back is the one, the only Tiger Woods, who
puts fear in the hearts of mere mortals, can put together
firey finishes and can come back like no one before him. Will
Tiger prevail? Does anyone care about the FedEx Cup finale?
Is Tim Finchem alienating the stars of the PGA Tour? All good
questions. The answers will come this Sunday, so stay tuned
for the rest of the BMW PGA Tournament.
9/01/2007 - My home course, Whispering Firs
Golf Course located on McChord AFB, Tacoma, Washington held
one of the qualifying tournaments for the USGA Mid Amateur
which will be held at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon,
Oregon. Four slots were contended for by 77 top amateurs from
around the Northwest and Canada. I haven't seen the results
yet, but I know that three of the spots were taken with scores
of 67, 67, and 68. Three other golfers had to playoff for
the last spot and all shot 69. I will post the names tomorrow
for those of you who are interested. Those are great scores
for this course whose course record is 63, shot a few years
ago by Steve Holshouser while stationed at McChord AFB.
9/01/2007 - It has been a hectic couple
of weeks since I last did a blog. There is big news, not only
did we get Tiffin Phaeton QSH 40' Quad slide Motor Home, but
I received an e-mail this last Monday that blew me away. "
You are a winner of the Anika Sorenstam "Share the Passion"
sweepstakes. I just about dropped to the floor. I read further
through the message and it said, "Clinic and play 9 holes
with Anika" "Photograph and autograph session with
Anika" "3 nights at the Ginn Reunion Resort"
and a bunch of other stuff. I pinched myself and kept saying,
"I get to play golf with the best woman golfer that golf
as ever seen". So, it has been a great week and continues
to get better and better. I will start talking about golf
soon.
|
August, 2007
8/13/2007 - Well, the PGA Championship was
shaping up to be a yawner, but a couple of guys, Woody Austin
and Ernie Els decided that they would try to make a game of
it. At one point with Tiger getting his second bogey, they
were only one stroke behind, but that only lasted one hole
with Tiger getting a birdy on the next hole. Tiger is now
perfect when leading after three rounds in Majors and is now
only five majors behind Jack. Can anyone tell me who is going
to be the Player of the Year and the money leader? Oh, you
are wondering about the Fed Ex Cup, $10M purse. Well, my money
is on Tiger since he now has found his game and is peaking
for the year. Do the math, if he wins the Fed Ex cup he will
finish with over $18M for the year. My! Oh! My!
8/09/2007 - I had a chance to play the new
"The Home Course" located in Dupont, Washington
and found it to be a true test of golf. You will need all
the shots you have in your bag to try and tame this course.
It plays 7437 yards from the tips and most of us mere mortals
play from the blues which is still a shy 6700 yards. The greens
are undulating and fast, you must try and keep the ball below
the hole. Lots of bunkers and some great water holes. Basically,
this course has everything you would want from a quality course
and the cost is under $50.00. I have played and taken pictures
throughout the Northwest and this one compares favorably with
the fabulous Circling Raven course in Worley, Idaho. The Home
Course will eventually house the Washington State Golf Association
and the Pacific Northwest Golf Association when the clubhouse
is completed in the next few years. The course is not the
only thing that is great. On clear days you can see the Olympic
Mountains across Puget Sound and from almost all the holes
great views of Mt. Rainier. This course will be coming online
in a few weeks. If you are an avid golfer this is a must play
course.
8/06/2007 - I also wanted to share some
of the upcoming courses that you will see in the next couple
of months, The Home Course, Dupont, WA, Mt. Si Golf Course,
Snoqualmie, WA, Mt. Adams Country Club, Toppenish, WA, Hangman
Valley Golf Course, Spokane, WA, and many more. I have contacted
the Head Golf Professionals and they have said they will get
the play tips and descriptions to me soon. Once we have those
these courses and more will show up for our members to see.
This is a great deal if you join our site because we are now
close to 130 courses and have some of the best in the West
on our web site. If anyone has any questions please feel free
to e-mail me about any courses you may have a question about
or other golf information.
8/06/2007 - On the home front more exciting
news! We finally received a great offer on our house and have
put a hold on our Phaeton Motor Home by Tiffin. Poulbo RV
has been patient and has been great about helping us get what
we want. Our closing date will be the end of this month and
we are hoping to be on the road by the middle of October.
Those of you in Canada that I wanted to see this year will
have to wait until next July for me to get to you since I
will head towards Arizona, Nevada and California for the winter
months. We will still be adding golf courses through the winter
so keep in touch.
8/05/2007 - Well, if there were any question
in anyones mind about Tiger's game I think he put it to rest
and Rory Sabattini is back questioning if Tiger were at the
top of his game. Tiger again put on a show for those fortunate
to be at Firestone on Sunday. He chipped in three times from
off the green to save par and his putter heated up and made
some great early birdies. His bogey free round was only the
second one of the week. The fact that he was the only golfer
to be under par for the week shows that his game is back in
time for the PGA Championships. My pick for the PGA, who else,
Tiger!

July, 2007
7/10/2007 - Check out our golf calendar
in which we post any open tournament that has requested it.
If you are interested in a free posting just e-mail us at
info@golfcaddyonline.com. Have a great day at the golf course.
7/05/2007 - Think our web site is worth
the $9.95 per year? Not sure? Well, Golfweek just put out
the top courses for Washington, Oregon and Idaho and we have
quite a few of the top courses located in our members area,
for example, Washington, we have Olympic Course at Gold Mountain,
rated number 1 in the state, along with Trophy Lake, number
3 and Port Ludlow Resort, number 5. In Idaho, we have Circling
Raven, number 1, Banbury Golf Club, number 4, and Falcon Crest
Golf Club, number 5. We now have over 128 courses from 2 provinces
in Canada and 8 states. So, if you are an avid golfer and
would like to know more about the course and see great digital
pictures of each hole, come on in and join.
7/01/2007 - Well, Tiger didn't play in the
Buick Open, his $38M guesthouse was hit by lightening and
burned to the ground and well, that wasn't the top news. In
fact, the most compelling golf this weekend was at the Women's
US Open, the biggest of the women's majors. For the first
two days and youngster was in the lead, Angela Park, only
18 years of age and a brand new Pro. It ended up with Christie
Kerr holding on and making putt after putt to save par on
the last five holes to beat perennial runner up Lorena Ochoa
(who is still looking for her first major). Those of us that
watched this tough redesigned venue at Pine Needles, NC, understood
that this would be a test not for the meek and a complete
mental test of each individual. Christie held it together
and when it got tough she got tougher making putts for par
outside of 6 feet at least twice in the last five holes. She
had the same concentration on the 18th when she only had a
one foot putt to win. Her concentration was there until the
putt fell into the cup, then she dropped to her knees and
the tears came as she finally realized she had won her first
major. This was great golf on TV. Also, congratulations to
Brian Bateman on his first win as a Pro on winning the Buick
Open.

June, 2007
6/27/2007 - For those of you who read this
blog I would like to invite you to ask your home course if
they would like to become a part of our site. It is free to
the course and it would only take some time on their part
to be added to our site. So, if you have a favorite course,
ask them if they would like to join our over 128 courses and
become a part of a growing international web site. Please
have a safe day on the golf course and enjoy your round of
golf.
6/27/2007 - The Buick Open is already upon
us and Tiger will not be playing this year since he has a
brand new daughter (can you hear the rumblngs amongst the
LPGA ladies?). I predict that she will be a chip off the dad's
block and by 15 years of age playing as a great amateur. Who
knows?
6/19/2007 - News flash! Tiger's a papa.
It begs to ask the question, "Will having a family change
Tiger's game?" One would think that this man can handle
anything, but he's finished 2nd twice this year in majors
and one can't help but think that maybe he is preoccupied
with his family just a little bit more during his rounds at
the Open. I believe Tiger will show us what he is really made
of when he attacks the British Open and then the PGA Championships.
I think he can win both, but what do you the readers think.
Write us and we will post your answers to our blog.
6/18/2007 - Among the hub-bub of the U.S.
Open there was a little know golf comptetion going on between
the Army, Navy and Air Force. This Ryder Cup style competition
is best know as the Rainier Cup and happens every year. It
is held at three different courses, The Gallery on Whidbey
Island, Whispering Firs Golf Course at McChord AFB and The
Fort Lewis Golf Course located just off Mounts Road exit going
towards Olympia, Washington. It was a fierce competition with
the Navy getting off to a great start, followed by the Army
and then the Air Force. Navy was the defending champion and
looking to keep the beautiful trophy for another year. The
Army, a perennial runner up, has only won once in the last
seven years. Air Force wanted the trophy back. Through a Stableford
competition, then Chapman (alternate shot) and then individual
match play the points went back and forth with some outstanding
golf being played. When the dust settled, the Air Force won
once again by 9 points. They had started the day 1/2 point
back of the Navy. I have been fortunate to be on the Air Force
team the last four years and have to tell you that it is great
to win, but this competition is what golf is all about. Comraderay
and the fun of the game. If you don't have something to do
during next years competition come on out and watch. Spectators
are welcome.
6/04/2007 - Congratulations to K.J.Choi
on winning the Memorial tournament. How about Ryan Moore from
Washington State who finished second by one stroke and shot
a final round of six under par 67. Ryan should not only be
proud of himself, but I certainly hope he uses this tournament
as spring board to greatness which all of us in the Pacific
NW all know he is capable of. Keep up the good work Ryan!
6/01/2007 - I hope everyone is watching
The Memorial PGA event. It has been exciting during the first
couple of days as we saw Phil Michelson withdraw do to an
injury to his wrist, Adam Scott now leading with a 2nd round
of 62, 10 under par and the Northwests very own Ryan Moore
hanging in there at 9 under par. Check out the tournament
on the Golf Channel on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well
as on CBS on Saturday and Sunday.

5/30/2007 - Yesterday, I visited
the Lewis River Golf Course in Woodland, Washington. I was
very impressed as I drove up the driveway to their magnificant
clubhouse. Inside, I met John Eastlick, the new assistant
Pro and Darrin Nash the PGA Head Golf Professional for the
course. This family owned course is why privately owned courses
that are open to the public need to keep going instead of
being bought out by land developers, but I digress. This course
is not long, but puts a premium on accuracy and putting. Beautiful,
tight fairways, with water features throughout the course
and the Lewis River lining the course. I got some great pictures
that should be coming up soon as our newest course. Also,
their restaurant has extremely good food and is a comfortable
place to relax after an enjoyable round.
5/16/2007 - We just received
word that one of my friends who is helping out taking pictures
of courses in his area has the first course from the East
coast. This one is located in Onset, MA and is named Bay Pointe
Country Club. It will be featured either in June or July once
I've received the pictures and information. We are excited
to have Bay Pointe Country Club as a new member of GolfCaddyOnline.com.
You can check them out on their web site before they are added
to our site at www.baypointecc.net.
5/13/2007 - Well, Tiger took
a down turn, but look at Phil. He wins The Players Championship
for the first time. I believe his move to Butch Harmon has
done some good not only for his course management, but for
his psyche.

4/14/2007 - A new course is coming this
Summer 2007 near the now famous Bandon Dunes complex but down
the road a little. It is Bandon Crossings and is designed
by Dan Hixson. You can find more information out about this
beautiful new course by going to www.BandonCrossings.com or
calling 1-888-465-3218.
4/12/2007 - Watch the play at Harbour Town
where Jerry Kelly has shot an 8 under 63 today and Ryan Moore
and Jeff Gove of the Northwest are in the thick of it.
4/09/2007 - Here is a listing of Courses
that will be Aerating within the next couple of weeks: Allenmore
- 15 Apr 2007; Auburn - end of April 2007; Links at Hawks
Prairie - 2 April 2007; Woods at Hawks Prairie - 16 April
2007; China Creek at Newcastle - 1 April 2007; Coal Creek
at Newcastle - 24 Mar 2007; Echo Falls - 9 April 2007; High
Cedars - 3 April 2007; Lake Spanaway - 1 April 2007; Lakeland
Village - 8 April 2007; Lipoma Firs - 8 April 2007; Riverbend
- 2 April 2007; Sumner Meadows - 9 April 2007; Trophy Lake
- 2 April 2007; Washington National - 8 April 2007 and finally
Whispering Firs - 2 April 2007.
4/08/2007 - Conratulations Zach Johnson
for your Masters win. Although the press is assuring the golfing
public that Tiger actually lost this tournament (heaven forbid
that someone ever actually shoot better on a Sunday), Zach
proved that nice guys can and do finish first. I watched the
whole tournament and Zach had a beautiful game plan and stuck
to it throughout the tournament play the Par 5s as three shots
to the green and letting his laser like putting do the rest.
I think he not only deserved to win the tournament he stayed
focused throughout better than Tiger. Tiger is still number
1 in everybody's book, but this Major went to a well deserving
golfer who has just had his golfing career turned upside down
(for the better).
4/03/2007 - If your not sure what week this
is in Golf, then you haven't been paying attention. The Masters
kicks off this Thursday. Phil is picking the dinner which
all the Pros attend and is using a Southern meal for his choice
(the winner from last year gets to pick). So the question
remains, "Is Tiger going to walk away with this one?"
"Will Phil step up again?" or "Will this year
be the year a young gun gets his name in the record book?"
Watch this on your TV and have a ball (golf ball that is)
this weekend.
4/03/2007 - On April 11, 2007, one of the
best courses in British Columbia is opening for the season,
Predator Ridge with its three wonderful nines and great lodging.
If you haven't ever played this course just outside Kelowna,
BC, it is a must play. They have a new Director of Golf, Shawn
Paduano, who recently was the Head Professional at another
fantastic golf site, St. Eugene Mission, located in the Kootenies.
I talked with Shawn when he was with St. Eugene Mission and
he is a very personable Golf Professional. I am sure he will
make your stay at Predator Ridge a most enjoyable one. Good
Luck on your new position, Shawn.

3/18/2007 - If you missed the Seattle Golf
Show you missed a great time. Plenty to do and find out about.
Coming soon this summer is a brand new course called Bandon
Crossings designed by Dan Hixson. You can find more out about
this great new course at 888-465-3218. Mr. Hixson is also
designing a great new semi-private course near Walla Walla
do to open in 2009 called Wine Valley. From the intial drawings
it looks like this will be another great community golf course.
If you have not played White Horse Golf Club in Kingston,
WA please check it out. Bruce Christy, Director of Golf, told
me it is a great track and fun for all golfers. Now, let us
talk about Nevada golf! Yes, it is warm and wonderful. In
Mesquite, Nevada, they have seven plus courses that are all
outstanding and most are affiliated with Casinos. But for
that golfer who would like to stay at a hotel that's a cut
above the rest, check out the Falcon Ridge Hotel (pet friendly).
Each guest room and suite serviced with personal attention
includes: Elegant bathroom granite counters and tub/shower
combinations, Microwaves and mini refrigerators, and all suites
with wet bars as well, Designer comfort bedding, all with
pillow shams, and coordinating skirting and comforters, free
high speed internet access, Neutrogena bath amenities designed
to soothe and moisturize, in room coffe service, iron and
ironing board and spray jet showheads and a 27" remote-controlled
color cable television with 63 stations from which to choose.
They also have a fitness room and swimming pool/hot tub and
for the business traveler a Business Center.

2/12/07 - Well, Phil just showed why he
is one of the best in the game. If he can play like that during
the Majors he may well walk away with a couple even with Tiger
in the field. So how about Tiger and his skipping the Nissan
Open. He hasn't done well and some say he wants to keep his
streak in tact. I think he is just getting ready for the Masters
which will be here soon enough.
2/11/07 - The Portland Golf Show was very
good this year with more vendors and new clubs as well as
some great buys. They even had a poker game at 1:00 and 4:00
PM for the select few that chose to sign up. Nice prizes also.
Many of the courses in Oregon were there and a few from Nevada,
Canada and elsewhere. It was a great deal for about $15 for
entry and parking.
2/5/07 - Well, as you may be aware of, Jeff
Quinney, yet again, squandered a lead in the final holes to
end up 3rd. Since this is his rookie year and a learning experience,
we all here at GolfCaddyOnline.com wish him well. My best
wishes that he keep on playing as well as he is now and he
will get a win this year. He has all the tools and was looking
good until the pulled drive to the green which found the water.
Good luck, Jeff, and keep hitting them straight.
2/4/07 - Yes, it's Superbowl Sunday, but
there is some great golf on today. Tiger earlier this morning
finished third in Dubai. Jeff Quinney, from Eugene, OR, has
been tearing it up in the last two tournaments is now leading
at -21 at the FBR Open. Check it out on Channel 5. Can this
former U.S. Amateur Champion win his first Pro tournament?
It will be tough, but I think he can, I think he can, I think
he can; well you get the picture.

1/15/07 - Now that the New Year has started
and we here in the Northwest are doused with a blanket of
snow and ice, the time has come to ponder the new golf season,
the upcoming golf shows and of course the great PGA Golf on
TV. I want to give you good information so I'll dole out the
golf shows first. The Portland Golf Show is 9-11 February
2007. If you go online and type in portlandgolfshow in google
it will take you to their web site. This is a very good golf
show and lots of give-a-ways and things to win as well as
some great buys.
1/15/07 - Following along with the theme
from the first paragraph is the Sony Open which was on TV
this weekend. The Golf Channel did a nice job showing it as
times when it wouldn't bother football and if it did interfer
a little bit, you could see the golf later that night. What
was amazing about this golf tournament was a young man of
16; yes, 16 years old! He not only made the cut, but finished
well and impressed many of the PGA Pro's. So, now, we say
goodbye to Michelle Wie and good luck with the LPGA tour.
Michelle, don't ever lose your competitive edge and have fun
at Stanford. Your turn will come, but not now and not on the
PGA Tour. Stay in touch with us and join this Spring (look
for specials).
