Hole 3

Heron Lakes-Great Blue Course (Portland, OR)

Heron Lakes-Great Blue Course, Hole 3

Overview

A short straightaway Par 4 with a row of bunkers on the left that come out into the playing area of the fairway.  A very large bunkers sits to the right of the landing area and two more bunkers front this large horizontal green.  Water runs up the far right side through the green.

Pro Play Tips

Do not let the shortest Par 4 on the course fool you, bogeys are easy to make here.  An ideal tee shot lands at the 150 yard marker, leaving you 100-125 yards into this hard, sloping green.  A tee shot that carries the three fairway bunkers leaves a much shorter approach, but a more difficult "in between" distance on the approach.  An approach shot that comes to rest over the green will generally result in a bogey..or worse.

* Suggestions for play are based on the back tee.
