Hole 8

Heron Lakes-Great Blue Course (Portland, OR)

Heron Lakes-Great Blue Course, Hole 8

Overview

This monster of a hole has been called "the most difficult Par 4 Robert Trent Jones II ever designed".  Water from tee to green down the left side of this dogleg left with bunkers on both sides guarding the turn.  The green is tucked back left with a bunker guarding the left side and a fore bunker right.

Pro Play Tips

An ideal tee shot skirts the right side of the trees and leaves an approach shot of 175 yards.  Longer hitters can attempt to carry the trees that guard the bend of the dogleg, but miss left will result in penalty shots.  A par here is a major victory against the course.

* Suggestions for play are based on the back tee.
