Hole #1 Tide — Par 4

Description

Port Ludlow Golf Course, Tide 1

Slight dogleg left. An elevated tee drops down 60 feet to a wide, level fairway. The fairway rises fifteen feet to a medium sized green guarded by bunkers front-right and back-left. The green is 35 yards deep and slopes gently from back-right to front-left.

Suggestions for Play

A good start is crucial at Port Ludlow, and fortunately the first shot on Tide is fairly open. A drive down the right-center is ideal to open your approach angle to the green. It is preferable to not be closer than 125 yards, as the fairway narrows the closer you get to the green. The worst place to miss the green is long-right into the trees or long-left into the bunker; the easiest place to get up and down from is short or short-left.
